How Smart Drapes work
A Smart Drape combines soft fabric vanes with a sheer fabric, hanging from a track like a vertical blind. Turn the vanes one way and you see through the sheer; turn them the other way and the vanes close together for privacy. Draw the whole thing aside and the door or window is clear.
The vanes hang individually, so you can also walk straight through them while they are closed. That makes them easy to live with on a door you use every day.
The result looks like a curtain but works like a blind, which is why it suits living rooms and sliding doors where a vertical blind can feel too hard-edged.
Fabrics and options
Smart Drapes come with light-filtering or room-darkening vanes and a sheer fabric between them, in a range of colours with a choice of headrail colours. Room-darkening vanes reduce the light, but they will not make a room completely dark.
The fabric is machine washable, and motorisation is available for this range, which can help on a wide patio door. We bring samples to the free measure so you can see them against your own light.
