Composite (faux-wood) venetian blinds

Why composite

Timber and steam do not mix. In a kitchen, laundry or bathroom, a timber slat can mark and move over time. Composite venetians give you the same wide-slat, painted-timber look in a material that handles humidity and splashes better, and they wipe clean.

Matching timber elsewhere

Plenty of homes have timber venetians in the living areas and composite in the wet rooms. Painted in the same colour with a similar slat, it is hard to tell them apart from the hallway. We plan both at the same measure.

Composite or aluminium?

Both suit wet areas. Composite gives you the look of a timber venetian with wider, chunkier slats. Aluminium is slimmer and lighter, and suits a more minimal bathroom or an office. We bring samples of both.

Common questions

What is a composite venetian blind?

A venetian with slats made from a composite material that looks like painted timber but copes better with humidity. Also called faux-wood or PVC venetians.

Can composite venetians go in a bathroom?

Yes — that is one of the main reasons people choose them over timber.

Do composite venetians look like real timber?

In a painted finish, very close. A stained timber venetian shows real grain, which composite does not.

Composite or aluminium for a kitchen?

Both work. Composite looks like timber; aluminium is slimmer and more minimal.
