We check the door before the blind.
Which side you walk through decides which way the vanes stack. We plan that at the measure.

How vertical blinds work
A vertical blind is a row of fabric vanes hanging from a track at the top of the window or door. Turn the wand and the vanes rotate together, from fully open to closed; draw them and they stack neatly to one side or both, clearing the opening.
Because they draw sideways, they suit doors you walk through. There is no need to raise the whole blind every time you step outside.
Fabrics
Light-filtering fabrics soften the light and give daytime privacy; blockout fabrics darken the room when closed, depending on the range. We bring samples so you can see how much light each lets through at your door.
Other options for doors
If you like the way a vertical blind moves but want a softer or more contemporary look, panel glide blinds use large flat panels instead of narrow vanes, and Veri Shades combine the feel of a curtain with vanes that tilt. Sliding plantation shutters and vertical honeycomb blinds are the other options. We can show you all of them.
If you have an existing vertical blind that needs fixing, see our repairs page.

Common questions
Are vertical blinds good for sliding doors?
Yes — they draw sideways, so the doorway is clear without raising the blind, and the vanes tilt for light and privacy.
Do vertical blinds come in blockout?
Blockout fabrics are available depending on the range. We bring samples to the measure.
Vertical blinds or panel glide?
Verticals have narrow vanes that tilt; panel glides have large flat panels that slide. Panel glides look more contemporary; verticals give finer light control.
Do you repair vertical blinds?
Yes. See our repairs and refitting page for how to send us details first.
