Cost & how our pricing works
How much do plantation shutters cost?
The honest answer is that it depends on your windows — and a price list that pretends otherwise usually ends in a quote that looks nothing like it. Here is what actually sets the price, and how we quote so the number you see is the number you pay.

Why we do not publish a price list
Every shutter we install is made to measure for one opening. Two windows that look alike can come out at quite different prices once the size, the material and the way the panels open are taken into account — and a whole house is a dozen or more of those decisions.
A per-square-metre figure on a website tends to set the wrong expectation, one way or the other. We would rather give you a real number for your house than a teaser that changes when someone finally measures.
What sets the price
Size and number of openings come first: more and bigger windows means more shutter. Material is next. Polyresin, timber and aluminium sit at different points, and Western Red Cedar is our premium timber and noticeably more expensive than the rest.
Then the build: the frame, whether panels are hinged, sliding, bi-fold or fixed, and any tracks or extra hardware a door or wide opening needs. Supplier and product range play a part too — we work across several, which lets us find a good fit for the budget without dropping to a product we would not put our name to. Installation and any options such as motorisation on the ranges that offer it complete the picture.
How our quotes work
We come to you, bring samples, look at every window you are considering and measure each one. The quote that follows is itemised, so you can see what each opening costs and move things around if you need to.
For installed jobs, our quotes generally include GST and installation. We aim to quote the real expected price of the job — not a low figure with the important parts added later.
Why you will not see a 50%-off sale here
Plenty of window-furnishing businesses run a permanent sale. We would rather price fairly all year, so you are not left wondering whether to wait for next month. If the budget is tight, tell us — we can suggest different materials or a staged approach, and we will be straight about where the savings are worth it and where they are not.
Spreading the cost
Plenty of people do their shutters in stages — the front of the house first, the bedrooms next year. If you tell us which other windows you are thinking about, we can measure them at the same visit, so the next stage can be quoted or ordered without another appointment and still matches the first.

Common questions
How much do plantation shutters cost?
It depends on the size and number of windows, the material, the frame and how the panels open. Because every shutter is made to measure, we quote per job after a free measure rather than publishing a price list.
Does the quote include installation and GST?
For installed jobs, our quotes generally include both. We aim to quote the real expected price of the job rather than a low figure with extras added later.
Is timber more expensive than polyresin?
It varies with the product and the opening, so we compare them on your actual windows. Western Red Cedar is our premium timber and is the most expensive of the four materials.
Do you ever have sales?
We do not run the permanent "50% off" sales common in the industry. We would rather price fairly all year round.
Is the measure and quote really free?
Yes. We come to you with samples, measure the windows you are considering and give you a written quote, with no obligation to go ahead.
