Plantation shutters & blinds in Paddington
Paddington is where Shutters Direct began. We spent almost twenty years on Latrobe Terrace before moving to Enoggera and then to our Geebung showroom — and we still measure and install here all the time.

Homes in Paddington, and what suits them
Paddington’s steep streets are lined with Queenslanders and workers’ cottages, many raised and renovated, with verandahs at the front and new living areas at the back. Homes are close together, so privacy is often the first thing people ask about.
Shutters are the classic answer: louvres tilted just so give privacy from the neighbours with light still coming in. Timber suits the character; the renovated back of the house often takes sliding shutters across the doors.
Local history
Where it all started
Timber Venetians and Shutters Direct was established in 1998 and spent almost twenty years on Latrobe Terrace, next to Bizzell’s Garage. We moved to a warehouse in Enoggera and now have a proper showroom in Ellison Road, Geebung — but Paddington is still an important suburb for us.
A bit of local history: Paddington took its name from the borough of Paddington in England, with the first allotments sold in 1859. Rosalie, once a separate suburb, has been part of Paddington since 1975, and Caxton Street’s pubs go back to the 1870s and 80s.
